Mobile Welding Toronto: Elevator Frame Welding (highrise welding)

Elevator’s Frame Welding- stick weld on mild steel.

JW Welding & Repairs supports other contractors with our welding services. We accommodate our welding equipment and our welding techniques to your requirements. However, an Elevator’s Frame Welding project serves as an exception to this rule. In an Elevator’s Frame project we have exceeded welding requirements due to field modifications that were not covered by the technical drawings. It is our policy to exceed welding requirements in projects where field modifications are not covered by the approved technical drawing. We are very quality and safety driven and strive to achieve the best welds while keeping the safety of our clients and staff our first priority.

Here is a detailed presentation of increased welding tasks:

  1. Increased size of welds due to the introduction of ¾ inch shims (not covered by technical drawing) between the long supported beam and 4 beams of motors’ support assemblies. We have increased flat position fillet weld between the shim and long horizontal beam from ¼ inch to ½ inch.
  2. Introduced butt-weld just above the ½ inch fillet weld, which positions shim to the one beam of motors’ support assembly.
  3. Increased overhead fillet weld between the shim and the beam of motors’ support assembly from ¼ inch to 3/8 inch.
  4. Introduced ½ inch flat fillet weld between the long horizontal beam and supporting plates that are anchored to the concrete.
